Pursuant to Chapter 50, Section 1 of the Code of Page County, an Erosion and Sediment Control Program provides for, both during and after development, the effective control of erosion and sedimentation by the enforcement of the Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Law and the minimum standards promulgated by the Virginia Soil and Water Conservation Board and known as the “Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Regulations.”
An Erosion and Sediment Control permit is required for all land-disturbing activities over 2,500 square feet and all new single family homes or additions. Agricultural exceptions may apply.
An Erosion and Sediment Control plan is required for all land-disturbing activities of 10,000 square feet or more.
A plan is not required for land-disturbing activities less than 10,000 square feet or for new single family homes or additions. However, you must still complete an application for a permit. Erosion and Sediment control measures must still be in place and will be inspected byprogram inspector.
