With the broadband Virginia internet expansion goals and funding available from The Virginia Telecommunication Initiative (VATI) who wishes to extend broadband service to currently unserved areas, I would like to propose that South Antioch Road broadband be completed. The availability of broadband internet stops at house number 499, leaving approximately 24 homes along S. Antioch without broadband service within the Luray area. We were personally quoted by Xfinity a total of $36,000 to expand 1/2 a mile to our property (tax map 52-A-72D). That would provide service for about 12 homes (once ours is built). The entire road from where it stops is a bit over 1 mile to include everyone on the road in the expansion. It my understanding Shenandoah Valley, including Page County has received grant money to do projects such as these, so I wanted make sure the need on South Antioch Road was made aware to those that can help with the development.
